I’m working on a new quilt this week, and I think it’s going to be a beauty. I’m using Elisabeth (from Brown Bird Designs Quilts) new pattern Square Off.
I’ve chosen to use a couple of my Sophie (by Chez Moi) charm packs paired with Charcoal Kona Solid. I’ve often admired quilts that use a dark grey background fabric with brightly colored blocks, so I’m excited to find this pairing coordinates so well.

Here are a couple of rows hanging over the cabinet door waiting to be attached.

And here’s where I left off today.

I am so pleased with how it’s coming along. I’ll post more when I’m further along.

Good morning, friends!
I’m pleased to tell you that I’ve put up some more bibs in the shop. These are all boy bib using Riley Blake’s Fox Trails fabrics. They are so super cute. See for yourself!

Ah, it’s New Years Eve. That special day when we look over the last year and forward to the next. I always find it bittersweet, saying goodbye to one year but hopefully looking to the future.
As a final post for 2012, I thought it would be fun to put together a recap of all my finished projects for the year. I know there will be a few you haven’t seen, unless you’re with me on FB.
12 Bags (Most of these were done toward the beginning of the year, because I tired of making them and don’t really “advertise” for them anymore.)

16 Finished Quilts! – What a blessing to be able to create what my heart loves!

3 Quilt Tops

+ a couple table runners and probably 100 bibs and wash cloths!
I’m also teaching Reagan to sew. She’s taken a huge interest in creating and has made countless dresses for her Barbies and even a few small quilts for her dolls.
This year, I also took up some new things. I started canning and our family stopped eating processed food and started eating more traditionally prepared foods. That’s meant a whole new approach to shopping, planning, and lots more cooking.
It’s been a busy year! And I am so thankful for all of it!
Looking forward, I hope keep making quilts! Hopefully I can top 16 this year! I also want to read 1000 gifts by Ann Voskamp and grow our own food in garden form. I want to practice being thankful for what I have instead of wanting more and instilling that into my children.
I am thankful for the support and encouragement that each of you has given me, and I sincerely hope you have your socks blessed off in 2013!

Last week marked my niece’s 5th birthday! She is an amazing little girl who is so independent and smart. We’re super proud of her and love her very much. For this “big girl” birthday, I knew it was time for her to have her first SLQ bag!
I used fabric from Vintage Modern and a perfectly coordinated fq I had from JoAnn’s. (The model is my own babiest girl…she did such a good job)

I stitched a heart/stippling pattern over the top of the bag. They remind me of balloons.
Anyway, I hope McKenna feels very big and gets lots of use from her new bag! Love you, sweet girl!

Inspiration hit me yesterday and I pulled out the 3 Twirl charm packs I’ve had stashed away. I started yesterday morning and finished the top this morning. This is what I came up with…

I just love the quilt I made for Reagan’s birthday, so I wanted to do something similar to that quilt. Especially since Twirl has so much in common with the Amelia line I used before (Me & My Sister designed both). I’m pleased with it so far. I have a couple of ideas of how I’d like to quilt it so I’ll get some paper out and play around a bit until I know for sure. I’ll keep you updated!
Btw, don’t forget about the Facebook Baby Sale going on right now! I’ve discounted bib sets for fans of my FB page and the prices will only last until the 29th, so head on over and check them out!
